Sponsored by Parks Canada Description: This workshop will provide an overview to the maintenance and repair of historic wooden and metal windows, including inspection, diagnosis and conservation; performance and life -cycle costing; security and protection. Day two will feature a variety of hands - on demonstrations of tools and techniques for the repair and maintenance of historic windows. Learning Objectives: Each participant will receive a good introduction to sources of information for general and specific advice on technical aspects of heritage building conservation with an on emphasis windows conservation. Each participant will be able to recognise heritage values in windows through a review of the history of materials, technologies and design.Each participant will receive a good introduction to sources of information for general and specific advice on technical aspects of heritage building conservation with an on emphasis windows conservation. There is a charge of $125 for this workshop, which includes course fees, refreshment breaks and a course workbook. There is no charge for representatives of National Historic Sites not owned by the federal government.
